The Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS) is responsible for running four of Britain’s internationally-renowned cohort studies: 1958 National Child Development Study (NCDS), 1970 British Cohort Study (BCS70), Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) and Next Steps (previously known as Longitudinal Study of Young People in England). It is the largest longitudinal study of its kind and provides crucial information for researchers and policy makers on the causes and consequences of change in people’s lives.
